And Canada’s innovators - especially in the resource sector - are key to building a more secure and prosperous future.

Our resource sector isn’t just about extraction: it’s a powerhouse of innovation.

Take mining for example: Canadian operations are global leaders in technologies like advanced water treatment. Across the sector, we’re also seeing breakthroughs in electrification, autonomous systems, and AI.

But too often, these innovations stay siloed within the industry.

While other countries scale innovation through defence or space programs, Canada has a unique opportunity to do the same by unlocking the cross-sector potential of our resource-sector technologies and accelerating their broader commercial and societal use.

We don’t need to start from scratch, we just need to look at what’s already working.
